WHY ARE MY VOLUME FANS CLOSING?

Q: How do I stop my volume fans from collapsing when I place them onto the natural lash?

A: There are a couple reasons why your fans may be collapsing so lets chat about them -

• The number one factor that causes this issue is 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐝𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞. You should only be dipping about 1-2mm of your fan into adhesive, anything more than than will likely cause your fan to close up. ⁣⁣

•  𝐔𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐝𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐝𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 / 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. With slower drying adhesives you run the risk of the adhesive not drying fast enough to keep the lashes in place. As well, if your humidity is super off then the adhesive can become much slower drying and cause this same issue.⁣⁣

• 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡. The rule of thumb is to hold the extension in place for about 1-2 seconds to ensure that it’s going to stay properly in place and not close up. ⁣⁣

•  𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐬. More specifically, not have a pair of tweezers with a large enough grip spot. If you cannot properly grip the entire fan with your tweezers the fan will likely close up. ⁣⁣
